Operations Manager

Do you want to join a collaborative and award winning business which is transforming governance through cutting-edge technology?

Kube is Kuberno’s unique entity governance platform. It provides a definitive source of entity data and automates entity governance across businesses. (A limited company is just one type of “entity” … just in case you were wondering! But don’t worry if you didn’t know that – we love sharing our knowledge and experience of governance and can get you up to speed in no time!).

As an established disruptor to the market our customer base is growing, and to support this our operational capacity must keep apace. We are looking for an Operations Manager to join the team at a unique and exciting stage in our journey.

We want to delight our customers, it’s that simple. Kube has been built around Kuberno’s customers and we want our customer experience to continue to stand out against our peers, and be one of the things that sets us apart.

Our Operations Team touches all aspects of the business, from providing support to and collaborating with all colleagues including up to C-level, to managing frameworks and policies. Everything Operations does contributes to delighting our customers.

We are now looking for someone who can lead the Operations Team through our next growth phase and beyond. From delivering continuous improvement plans and supporting the business to overseeing our Info Sec accreditation programmes, this is a broad and interesting role. It presents a unique opportunity to shape the function and to ensure it is future-fit.

We don’t have a check list of skills or experience for this role. We are looking for teamwork, aptitude, and attitude, and you will be expected to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. Being a self-starter, highly motivated and wanting to be part of the team culture is key.

We are looking for people who:

  • Has a deep understanding of the role Operations plays in a B2B SaaS business and can hit the ground running as we scale our business post our Series A financing
  • Enjoys the challenge of process mapping, identifying weaknesses or inefficiencies, and developing solutions to support the business in our aim to delight our customers
  • Can nurture and build lasting, effective internal relationships and is responsive to the needs of stakeholders. Also, has the aptitude to manage and oversight key external suppliers through developing strong relationships
  • Understands how to develop and deliver internal policies and frameworks that serve to support and protect colleagues and the business
  • Is experienced in managing Info Sec accreditations, from managing frameworks and regular reporting, to delivering an effective audit programme
  • Leaving ego at the door, thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment and is comfortable with ambiguity. We are a fast moving scaling up business – this brings huge opportunities to progress, but limited handholding! The need to pivot and re-evaluate your own priorities in light of business demands and needs is critical
  • Will support and promote our inclusive values and behaviours
  • Has a professional and informative communication style – you can clearly articulate problems and solutions and are comfortable engaging with the C-level of the company
  • Are energetic, tenacious and enthusiastic with strong self-organisation and accountability
  • Have a burning curiosity and passion for learning. We don’t plan on standing still and neither should you!

So what would you be doing in the role?

  • Developing a deep understanding of Kuberno and how we operate, getting to know Kube and its core value proposition, understanding our customers and industry, and the technology that we use
  • Building your network of stakeholders and collaborating with them to understand their needs and pain points, asking “how can I help you”
  • Scaling, developing and leading the Operations Team
  • Owning and reporting on own/function KPIs and objectives that support the company in achieving its OKRs, collating, tracking and reporting business-wide performance to C Level colleagues
  • Developing a continuous improvement plan, proactively seeking feedback from stakeholders and aiming for best practice standards whilst reducing or removing unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Overseeing the effective functioning of our Info Sec compliance frameworks and internal policies , identifying gaps and working with stakeholders to implement corrective action plans
  • Managing and oversighting our Risk Management Framework and continuity planning, and managing own operational risks, to ensure we follow good risk management practices
  • Supporting and collaborating with all teams and colleagues to ensure the aims of the company are being met

“Nice to haves”

We work with Company Secretaries and other governance professionals from organisations of all shapes and sizes who want to deliver future fit governance. An interest in governance and how technology can help transform the role of the Company Secretary would be a head start in building empathy for our customers, but is not a pre-requisite. Demonstrable knowledge of managing compliance frameworks for ISO27001/9001, Cyber Essentials and SOC2, as well as Risk Management Frameworks would be very helpful in this role. Given the nature of this role, previous experience of leading Operations teams in a SaaS environment would be helpful, but this is not a pre-requisite.

The role will primarily be home-based, but you should be willing and able to travel to London for a day on a monthly basis for team meetings. You may also be required to travel to other sites to support teams in their work, such as in face to face customer meetings.

Still holding back?

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we will let you into a secret: There’s no such thing as a “perfect” candidate! Kuberno is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever your background, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to be at work every day.
